Sol Over Gudhjem cooking competition
A lot happens in Gudhjem and one of the most exciting events is the cooking competition "Sol Over Gudhjem".
Sol Over Gudhjem is Denmark's largest cooking competition with dessert competition, product prize, the awarding of the honorary prize "Kokkenes Kok" and a large food market.
It all started in 2009 where the brothers Mikkel and Mads Marschall, who as 21-year-old and local chefs started up with a small tent at the harbor and today it is Denmark's largest cooking competition with more than 10,000 visitors where Gudhjem Harbor one day a year, transformed into a food market that attracts people from all over Denmark to watch top chefs in action in the cooking competition,
A product award is also presented, which pays tribute to the country's best local goods in food, drink and confectionery. The prize is awarded to the most innovative company that shows the way for how new thinking can be crucial in the development of local products. In 2018, Høstet won i.a. with their immature sea buckthorn.
